Experimenting with Gravity
I was downstairs last weekend reading a book when I heard my 5 year old call out, “come up and see what I can do Daddy.”
I walked up stairs to find him in the office/guest bedroom. There was a chair on the couch that is up against the window. A rope was tied between the chair and the closet door on a side wall. My son was standing on the arm of the couch, about 3 feet back and a foot lower than the rope.
“Watch me jump over the rope Daddy.”
“Leeland, I’m not sure that’s a good idea. What’s likely to happen is that you will hook your foot on the rope. That will make you auger face first into the floor, breaking your face. Since you hooked the rope, it will also pull the chair down and brake the back of your head. All in all a bad day.”
“But Daddy, I’ve done it twice already.”
“Um … Ok, let me get the camera first.”
